An official report of the active practice
(Being on a sick leaf till 13,February)
The fifth form
1) The 16th of February was the most difficult day of the practice. I have prepared seriously but the presentation didn't work. It was home reading. Fortunately I managed to open it. The lesson began with my the presentation of myself. It was very extraordinary. Then we came to our topic and worked at the phonetic drill. After that we worked with the interesting facts. Then were the dialogues, all of them had been learned earlier. After that we worked with a home text, discussing, reading, translating and answering the questions. Homework was the following: to learn a new fact and to read the paragraphs. Speaking about the emotional part, I was so terribly nervous that I got sweat. G.I. Told me that I had spoken so loudly that her ears hurt. She was glad to see my preparation to the lesson and advised me to take it easy.
2) I wasn't so nervous to work on the second day because my children had already known me. We started as usually with our phonetic drill and continued watching video "at the doctor's". That I planed to play the following day. I made a terrible mistake deciding to give them a translation test with a word "ache" because I didn't give them it to learn by heart at home. They failed.
3) As I planned we watched the video one more time and played. They liked it perfectly much. All of them wanted to be both the patients and the doctor. Then we repeated The reported Speech in present and continued with the past. I painted the special poster which helped them to see how the verbs changed.
4) on the 19th of February that started to sing the firs two paragraphs of the song without my help. I asked them to prepare their copybooks and dictionaries for checking. We continued working with reported speech and checked their HW. We tried to work with transformation in order to revise the tense-aspect forms. We also worked vocabulary of our topic and played with the words in a cookie jar. I asked them to rewrite the words in the dictionary.
5) They sang a song for marks and wrote a vocabulary test. We deffirintiate the difference between told and said on reported speech and made some excersises. I also organized some physical excersises . We worked together with vocabulary as a choir. And played again cookie jar.
6) a whole week passed and I began to feel myself confident. I informed them about our final lesson, gave them cards of Miss and Mister of the class. We sang our song, commented the test. We revise the vocabulary of "body" and I gave them the layouts with a man where they had to write the parts. Furthermore, they had to choose an appropriate phrase from vocabulary to the picture on the board. They liked it very much. We finished up with our favorite transformation.
7) at home I checked their dictionaries and copybooks and handed them out with commentary. We took a little poem in order to work at the sound. They made a small test on reported speech. Together we revised how to form plural on the parts of the body.
8)the preparation to our final lesson continues in a high speed. Every lesson we revise the poems. I go on giving scores in our Miss and Mister competition. We practiced a game "I know 5..." Parts of body. Made some physical excersises. In the end, they chose words from a cookie jar and worked with them.
9) so, during the last two days we decided to work only with poems. With a help of them we revised present continuous, learned about limericks, degrees of adjectives, reported speech and great vocabulary of the topic (all that was included in the poems such as "sick"' "duty of the strong" "written in March" etc.)
10) the final rehearsal, we organized the order, made photos, I wrote the invitations, picked up the MM cards.
11) on the 28th of February Masha and I came to prepare the classroom. To print the diplomas and to hang the curtains ;)
12) 2 March! The most nervous day, I am a master of ceremony, lots of parents, teachers and pupils, but my aim was to make my kids happy and I succeeedeed!
